Summary
This position requires an experienced and professionally trained individual to set-up and operate spraying or rolling machinery to coat or paint a wide variety of industrial machinery, tanks, structural steel or other items indoors and outdoors. Must have proven technical knowledge and experience, and the ability to discuss and recommend solutions to Allied customers in a variety of situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following:
Able to execute all facets of abrasive blasting (using industrial sand blaster) and application of effective coatings.
Able to complete projects safely, precisely and productively according to customer specifications.
Demonstrate ability to use all wet and dry gauges as well as other inspection instruments.
Experience using airless and conventional spray pots, including Wewa airless sprayers.
Excellent communication and planning to coordinate with on-site inspectors, customer representatives, other contractors and co-workers.
Most work is performed outdoors.
Pipeline and oil refinery experience is a plus.
Confined space and elevated work platforms (in excess of 25 feet) experience preferred.
All travel expenses covered when working on a project that requires a hotel stay.
Clean driving record for insurability purposes.
Able to pass a criminal background check in order to gain access to potential government and pipeline facilities.
Exhibit sufficient technical knowledge and problem solving ability with regard to on-site issues.
Document all activities including material usage and waste generation.
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulatory requirements.
Thorough understanding and compliance of OSHA requirements.
Ensure all coatings are in compliance with contract specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent from technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write technical reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
