Allied Environmental Services, Inc. (Allied), recently held its 15th annual corporate “Safety Days” event at our headquarters in Lima, Ohio.
The Safety Days event was held February 8-9, 2024, providing two full days of classroom and hands-on training to all Allied employees. The training sessions focused on changes in regulatory safety regulations and requirements, safe work practices and employee well-being.
The event was organized and spear-headed by Allied Corporate Safety Manager, Tyler Beemer - great job Tyler! Allied also invited some industry friends and vendors to participate in Day-1 of the event by presenting an impressive lineup of informative training sessions. The Allen County Chapter of American Red Cross provided training on blood-borne pathogens, ProMedica EAP discussed drug-free workplace policy, Malta Dynamics provided a comprehensive review of fall protection standards and best practices, and Shawnee Township Fire Department provided hands-on fire extinguisher training and AED (defibrillator) training. Phelan Insurance provided training sessions on workplace harassment and defensive driving – including a mobile Driver Training Simulator, which gives the “driver” the experience of piloting a commercial vehicle through a number of challenging scenarios.
Day-2 of the event focused on HAZWOPER 40-hr Refresher training, which is required for all Allied field crews. The HAZWOPER training was provided by The University of Findlay All Hazards Training Center and included classroom sessions, hands-on dress-out in Level-A, B and C PPE and decontamination procedures.
The safety of our employees is our top priority, and we are committed to offering them the best training and education possible. A big “thank you!” to Allied staff members Tyler Beemer, Connie Stimmel, and Courtney Parent for organizing the event, and to all Allied employees for making this year’s Safety Days a resounding success!
Special thanks to our friends at American Red Cross, ProMedica, Malta Dynamics, Shawnee Township F.D., Phelan Insurance and University of Findlay. And an extra-special thank you to our friends at Jendco Safety and Rain for Rent for sponsoring lunches and safety-related prizes! We couldn’t do it without you!
Looking forward to next year!
