The Allen Soil and Water Conservation District presented Allied with a 2018 Stormwater Superstar award for Allied's commitment to the health of the Ottawa River and community pride through participation in the Lima Adopt-a-Roadway program.
Twice each year, Allied employees volunteer to pick up litter and waste along a one mile section of Bellefontaine Avenue (from Lima Senior High School to I -75) in Lima, Ohio. The program helps beautify the community and prevents waste and litter from entering storm sewers, which protects the Ottawa River watershed.
According to Keith Boyd, Allied Project Manager, the Adopt-a-Highway program is a great way to volunteer for the good of the community and help protect local water resources. "As a local business with local employees, we feel it is important to get involved and do good things for our community, and every little bit helps," stated Boyd. " We have been a proud supporter of the Allen Soil and Water Conservation District for many years. It's an outstanding organization that continues to do great things toward improving the Ottawa River and surrounding communities", Boyd added.
